Do you constantly feel overwhelmed, disorganized, and desperately short on time? The chaotic energy of the last few years has been real and profound. Add to that the holiday buildup and end of year frenzy, and you have the makings of a perfect emotional storm and a massive energetic downswing.

Endurance athletes commonly experience this shift from high voltage to a depressive low upon completing their event. As a former marathoner, I can attest to the depth of that feeling, often described as the “marathon blues”. It’s when the focused and intense training for months on end comes to a close with the actualization of one’s goal. However, the athlete’s body gets used to the physical demands, and when it stops suddenly to recover, there is a very real impact of systemic disharmony. We can feel a similar effect after the holidays when our autonomic nervous system, which has been on overdrive, suddenly experiences a shift in external stressors. Thankfully, there are things we can do to offset that discordance and find harmony. Read on for wisdom from the Sumerian Goddess Inanna to support you in finding calm after the chaos.

Known as the Goddess of Thunderstorms and Rain, Inanna is both frenetic and gentle, moving effortlessly between thunder, lightning, and fierce wind, and the nurturing, replenishing softness of summer rain. She knows how to be done with the old and welcome in the new. She is a determined goddess capable of realizing whatever she sets her mind to. Once she is clear about what she wants, she moves towards it with the determination of an athlete heading down the home stretch. Channel the energy of Inanna as she moves confidently from chaos to harmony.

Many of you will set intentions and resolutions for 2022. What about resolving to expect all you want to manifest, including stillness and wisdom? Imagine yourself as an endurance athlete who has just come through a very long training period. It is now time to recover, recalibrate, and integrate all of your training. Call in the phase of peace you are ready for. It is important to expect this outcome. Expectations are housed in the heart, which is the most magnetic aspect of our being. What is present in the heart is what shows up in our reality. Expect the harmony you are ready for.

Replenish Your Body Like a Goddess
Ensure you restore the energy you have expended throughout the year. After completing a marathon, athletes must refuel and recalibrate their electrolytes. Doing so is crucial. If your physical system is balanced, it will improve your state of mind. Be sure that you take the time at the end of the year to reboot your body and your immune system by targeting vibrant foods that look, feel, and taste harmonious. After all, everything is vibration. We can align our physical system to the frequency of harmony by nourishing ourselves like a goddess with high-quality and nutrient-rich foods. Prioritize brightly colored fruits and vegetables and drink lots of water. Rest.

Get bodywork to help ground your energy and release the intensity of the last few months. Book a massage, get a chiropractic adjustment, or see your acupuncturist to help you align physically.

Ritual as a Portal to Harmony
The Solstice and the other High Holidays are prime times to engage in ritual, but ritual can be done anytime. Honor yourself by engaging in one that marks the end of one cycle and the beginning of another. As a High Priestess, let Inanna guide you through the art of ritual. Get creative. Make it your own but use it to call in harmony, peace, and revitalization. One such ritual is to make a harmony prayer bundle. Below is an example of how to do so, but always follow your creative intuition.

Harmony Prayer Bundle Ritual:
• Enter a sacred and quiet space.
• Set the intention for a ritual to create a harmonious life.
• Call in Inanna and your own guides from the Higher Realms.
• Light a candle and give thanks to your support crew!
• Fill a piece of fabric with objects that symbolize the state of harmony for you. Alternatively, write out words that convey harmony to you. Cut them out individually and place them in your prayer bundle.
• Wrap up the bundle, hold it to your heart, and ask for all that is within to be made manifest instantly.
• Place the bundle in a sacred space for 24 hours or throughout New Year’s Eve.
• Close your ritual with gratitude and release the higher dimensional beings you called in to help.

Expect that upon completing the ritual, all that you asked for with intention will show up. Go forward with confidence. Leave behind the chaos and move fully into harmony as you enter the New Year!
