As an intuitive channel, I am often asked how one develops intuition. While there are a number of different ways, doing so is much easier than you may think! However, it is crucial to seek out and identify examples of engaging your intuition in the everyday.

One of the many reasons, I feel such a strong alignment with the Sumerian Goddess Inanna is because she knows what she feels, and she always trusts it. Inanna never doubts herself. When Inanna has a hunch, she tunes in to listen to what surfaces and always follows it through. But she doesn’t use crystals or even my favorite, tarot cards—both of which can be used as tools to support intuitive communication—she just tunes into the oracle of her heart, and in her case also her second chakra. Indeed, in connecting with Inanna or whichever Divine ally you work with, you can grow your intuition with ease.

Most of us are informed by our intuition regularly without necessarily even being conscious of it. This can occur through clairsentience, which is an inner feeling or what many refer to as a gut feeling. Clairaudience is an inner hearing. Some of us hear messages come through as our own inner voice, or even actually hear our guides talking. Clairvoyance on the other hand, is an inner seeing in which we access the third eye and see symbols, images, or movie-like scenarios play out. This also includes what we may receive in the way of messages through the dream state. The lesser-known claircognizance is an inner knowing, which is the most nuanced of them all. It is often mistaken for the intellect. Of course, our intellect is accessed with claircognizance, but this inner knowing is not an active thinking but rather an active receiving.

Importantly, all of these ways of accessing intuition are based on our personal repertoire of symbols, experiences, understanding, and individual wiring. For example, because the Goddess Inanna insists on her physicality, much of her intuition appears to be through feeling or clairsentience. What is your most prominent way of accessing your intuition? Perhaps it is one of the above or a combination of them? The process is unique and individual but identifying how you access intuition will help you have greater faith in your gift and help you to develop it further.

As noted, we all have the capacity to access this amazing inner guidance. Many of my clients expect that their intuitive information will hit them like a ton of bricks, and they doubt information that comes through more subtly. In fact, there are gradations of intensity but ultimately intuition is subtle and often hard to qualify or quantify. That doesn’t make it less significant, it just means we have to adjust what we expect. The more we trust the subtle communication, however, the more pronounced it becomes.

Additionally, you may have what I call energetic signatures that show up to confirm the intuitive information coming through. These may be chills you feel, tears that well up in your eyes, or even a ringing in your ears to name a few. Does your heart swell when something comes to you that you know is significant? Spirit may provide you with a sign to force you to pay attention to what surfaces. Others may not receive these signatures and must cultivate that inner trust without a signifier. But the more that we do trust, the more our intuition grows.

Examples of using our intuition daily abound. Often, we don’t even know we are doing so. Consider the intuitive process of parenting. Sometimes we feel it is right to say yes to something our child asks for and other times we just know it is best to say no. There is no one size fits all handbook for parenting. Even the seemingly mundane choices we make daily are informed by our intuition.

You follow a hunch about directions when lost. You pick up the phone to call someone you haven’t talked to in months, and they tell you they were just thinking of you. How did you know what to wear to your last job interview? Something guided you to assemble the outfit you did. What pulled you to those turquoise earrings or the particular blazer you wore? Certainly, there is an aesthetic choice being made but that aesthetic, what we may call our “style,” involves an intuitive capacity to align with the best match for our energetic frequency.

Intuition is a frequency of perception.

You can use this frequency to guide your daily life, but also to be supported by the higher realms. It is through my intuition that I connect with Inanna and am guided by her. In aligning with Inanna (or any being of Light you wish to connect with), you sensitize your perception and gain access to the quantum field available to us all. When you connect with the Divine ally of your choice on a regular basis you will see your intuitive gifts flourish. You are in essence tuning in. This alignment cultivates a link through which to directly receive the attributes, strengths, and power of your Divine ally.

For example, I am drawn to Inanna’s unapologetic nature and it has transformed me. That she balances the Divine Masculine and Divine Feminine within, has led me to embrace my own drive toward balance. In addition, I have experienced her refusal to be bound and now I no longer allow myself to be held back. Growing your intuition will help you show up in the world in the way you were meant to. You will see that is much easier than you might think. Hold the expectation of ease and watch your intuition grow.
