DR. ELENA MUSTAKOVA is an independent scholar-practitioner, author, former university professor, teacher, trainer, coach, consultant, and clinician with a diverse interdisciplinary and multicultural background. She works to inspire people and communities toward emotional and spiritual maturity and health, and toward building more just and sustainable relationships to ourselves, to others, to society, and to life.
As tenured professor, Mustakova taught humanistic, transpersonal and spiritual psychology. Her scholarship on the evolution of moral consciousness, and her social justice work with communities have received academic recognition. Her integral clinical practice redefines healing in the global context of the 21st century.
She is the author of Critical Consciousness, which has been described as “a courageous tour de force on the order of Maslow’s Toward a Psychology of Being.” She is Senior Editor of the 2014 volume in Springer International Psychology series, Toward a Socially Responsible Psychology for a Global Era, which APA PsycNet called “a path-breaking resource, reframing the field in terms of its responsibility as a healing science and force for social justice.”
